About

I am the Founder and CEO of Avenue, a B Corp digital and social media marketing agency for purpose-driven companies. Our proprietary suite of marketing products and custom services help brands and businesses of all sizes grow sustainably and successfully. As a Certified B Corporation®, Avenue is proud to be part of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. We believe B Corps are redefining success in business and inspiring businesses to not only be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world. Prior to founding Avenue, I held a variety of executive leadership roles at digital and full-service agencies. During that time, I helped build a startup agency from the ground up to over $1M in revenue and facilitated its merger with a larger agency. Over the past 15 years, my responsibilities have spanned business management, executive leadership, operations, sales, client services, talent recruitment, mentorship and public speaking. I am passionate about having a meaningful impact on our community through volunteerism. I currently serve on the Statewide Board of Directors for SMART Reading as Immediate Past Chair, as Board Member and Chair Elect for B Local PDX, on the EO (Entrepreneurs' Organization) Board as Accelerator Chair, and as the Past President, Secretary and Charity of Choice Chair on the Board of Directors for SEMpdx (Search Engine Marketing Professionals of Portland). I have also previously served as a Board Member and Nominations Chair for Business for a Better Portland (BBPDX). In the community, I serve as a Business and Marketing Mentor for Prosper Portland’s Digital Marketing Program and as a Business Coach for Xxcelerate, both of whom serve women and BIPOC entrepreneurs and business owners. I am also a speaker and instructor for organizations such as the American Marketing Association, SEMpdx, Oregon State University, Portland State University and University of Oregon on the topics of digital marketing, entrepreneurship, leadership and culture, B Corps, women in technology and anti-racism. Through my work at Avenue, for our clients and within the community, I was recognized by the Portland Business Journal with the CEO of the Year Award for 2023, the Women of Influence Award for 2020, the Forty Under 40 Award for 2017, B Lab’s B Corp Best for the World™ (Workers) and Best for the World™ (Community) lists for 2022 and as a finalist for the OEN Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2022. Amid performance review season, I understand the importance of embracing a holistic strategy that not only values individual contributions but also prioritizes fairness, open communication, and continuous improvement.  To cultivate this for our organization, we refactored our system of growth from being a linear promotion process to one that allowed for more divergent growth paths. Having an "up or out" model didn't work for our company culture. Having a lattice-based (rather than a ladder-based) approach gave people more autonomy in the course of their careers. And we made our promotion logic more equitable by transparently naming the conditions for growth.
