With extensive experience in executive leadership roles, Kris has a proven track record of success in scaling and operating startups, middle-market, and large enterprises. Before joining Fahrenheit Advisors, Kris served as the Chief People Officer at DroneUp, a groundbreaking last-mile delivery and drone technology startup partnered with Walmart. During his tenure, Kris played a pivotal role in scaling the business from 12 to over 500 employees across 38 locations in just 18 months. Notably, he spearheaded the establishment of the industry's first accredited commercial drone Flight Academy at Richard Bland College of William & Mary. Prior to his role at DroneUp, Kris honed his skills during a 20-year career at Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), a family-owned, global organization with revenues of $2.7 billion and a workforce exceeding 40,000. During his tenure, Kris held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Strategy, M&A, Business Development, Operations, and Support Services. Among his notable accomplishments at D&Z, Kris led the turnaround of a $100 million P&L operation for a professional and technical staffing business. He also played a pivotal role in creating the 'D&Z Way' of operational execution, leading complex M&A integrations, securing over $5 billion in booked backlog with major clean energy producers, and spearheading the company's successful pivot into the multi-billion-dollar emerging energy markets. Kris also served as a faculty member at Messiah University, and currently serves as chair of organizational behavior at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in business strategy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and organizational behavior. He is a published author with several articles featured in Fast Company Magazine.
