About

Tim Maleeny is the Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer for Havas North America, an integrated marketing communications company. As a strategist, his campaigns have won at Cannes, WARC, Effies, and the Jay Chiat Awards. Prior to joining Havas, Tim held a variety of leadership roles, including Head of Strategy for Ogilvy, Executive Director of Brand & Marketing Strategy at R/GA, and Managing Partner at Deloitte. A true hybrid, Tim has also worked as a copywriter, producer, account lead, and new business director over the course of his career. And with a degree in computer science, he's a technophile at heart who's been heavily involved in expanding agencies' digital and CX capabilities. During Tim's tenure Havas has achieved remarkable new business growth, and the New York office has built an award-winning culture as one of the best places to work and most innovative companies, with employee retention at more than twice the industry average. Tim is known for pioneering a narrative approach to campaigns, which makes sense since he’s the bestselling author of six novels and multiple award-winning short stories. The comedic thriller JUMP was called “a perfectly blended cocktail of escapism” by Publishers Weekly, and his latest novel Hanging The Devil received a starred review from Library Journal for its “relentlessly fast-paced plot and delightful dry humor.” Always active as a mentor across the marketing community, Tim connects great people wherever he finds them. This will be his ninth year as a mentor for Women-in-Power, the cross-sector fellowship sponsored by 92Y, and last year he was named a Talent Champion by the ANA's educational foundation. Tim currently lives in Tribeca with his wife, two daughters, and far too many books.
