About

I am the Founder and Executive Director at ComIT and Comunidad IT, charities that help people to overcome employment barriers in North America and South America. Since 2011, I've been working with those less fortunate and highly talented, who are in need of a no-cost training strategy, to help them take an active role in the local workforce. In 2019, I was featured by the Federal Government of Canada on their #ImmigrationMatters campaign where my story and work was shared to portrait the importance of immigrants in the future of the country. In 2021, ComIT launched along with Google Canada and the support of organizations such as Indspire, Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and many others, its Recoding Futures program for Indigenous learners, reaching people across the country with an interest in pursuing a career in Tech. Raised in Buenos Aires, I am the youngest child of a low-mid class family and have called Canada home for 7 years. I hold a Masters degree in Computer Science and an MBA, and have worked in the past for IT corporations such as Microsoft and IBM.

Company bio

ComIT is a charitable organization on a mission to help change the lives of unemployed and underemployed Canadians by providing free technology and professional skills training that will help them secure in-demand careers in technology in their community. We run programming in communities across the country, tailoring our three-month, part-time courses based on the technology needs and demands of local employers to ensure our graduates are developing skills that will set them up for success in their local job market. As part of our mission to eliminate barriers and create job opportunities for unemployed and underemployed communities, we’re also addressing tech skills gap challenges in today’s labour market by creating a steady pipeline of highly-skilled talent for local employers that need and fill high-demand technology-based jobs. ComIT’s mission is community building. This includes volunteers and former students sharing their professional skills and experience during programs, to having instructors who are active tech professionals from industry-leading companies, and supporting students in making meaningful connections while learning knowledge for life. We build a strong community-led support network in order to change lives.
