About
Julian Flannery is founder and CEO of Summus, a leading virtual specialty care company. Julian grew up in a family committed to medicine, and leveraging experience from a wide-ranging career in public policy, finance and information technology, founded Summus to combine service excellence with a tech-enabled marketplace model to change how patients and families access specialty care. Julian is dedicated to building a company committed to being of service to physicians and patients that supports better insights and decision making across all health questions. Prior to his work at Summus, Julian was a member of the management team and led Global Research at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), the world's largest membership-based platform for professional expertise. He oversaw GLG's service operation, products, and content, and directed management of its 400,000+ expert membership base. It was through this work and his understanding of the physician journey and experience that Julian arrived at the idea of creating a marketplace to attract leading physicians to solve the challenge of speed and access to high quality-medical expertise. Julian formerly worked at Morgan Stanley as Associate and Chief of Staff to the Chairman & CEO, and in special situations and investment banking. In 2001, he served in The White House as an aide to the Chief of Staff to the President. Julian received his MBA from Harvard Business School and AB in Economics from Duke University.
