About
Tiffany Tate is recognized as one of the most consequential health leaders of the decade. As the visionary force behind PrepMod, a groundbreaking software that transforms how we manage mass vaccination efforts, Tate's platform was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic. It facilitated vaccinations in 44 states and earned widespread recognition for its impact in accelerating the roll-out of life-saving COVID vaccinations. While behemoth entities struggled to produce similar solutions during this public health crisis, PrepMod was ready, and was the first end-to-end mass vaccination application deployed during the pandemic, earning recognition from outlets like The New York Times and Success Magazine. PrepMod remains the market leader. Growing up in California, Tate was inspired by a supportive family that fueled her passion for public health and encouraged her creativity and courage. She pursued a Master of Health Science at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she developed a strong interest in immunizations and caring for the medically- and socially-underserved. This solid academic background set the stage for her future work in public health technology. Before launching VAULT Technologies, Tate played a leading role in state and national immunization efforts as Executive Director of non-profit Maryland Partnership for Prevention (MPP), the nation’s second-oldest statewide health coalition aimed at mobilizing providers and the public around immunization. At MPP, Tiffany has spearheaded programs delivering health services in schools, churches, long-term care facilities, and other community settings. She has formally trained hundreds in coalition-building and provided mentorship and training to dozens of public health professionals. Already a key figure in the public health landscape, her national influence was expanded internationally during the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically the only woman or person of color in high-level meetings related to her technology, Tate became deeply committed to bringing more diversity to the tech industry. Her drive to create opportunities for people of color and other groups underrepresented in the industry have led to VAULT launching an internship program targeting women, minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community and a software developer training program for people of color. Her international training program, Dzata Tech Partners, is cultivating young talent in Ghana and soon will start a program in Jamaica to train young women to be software developers. Tiffany's contributions to public health and innovation have been widely recognized. She was named one of "25 Black Marylanders to Watch" by The Baltimore Sun, highlighting her commitment to improving public health and fostering diversity. An article in International Business Times named her a “hidden figure” of COVID, owed to the fact that relatively few people knew her ground-breaking PrepMod was created by a Black woman. Her company, VAULT Technologies, continues to develop innovative solutions that address systemic challenges in healthcare. Her latest innovation is the most comprehensive software application to tackle health inequities in behavioral health and primary care. It leverages a state-of-the-art approach in software architecture that enables rapid evolution to meet evolving needs of the ever-changing industry, and promises to increase access to and utilization of mental health therapy and primary care in Black communities. Tiffany envisions a future where technology plays a central role in advancing global public health. Her goal is to make her solutions accessible everywhere, breaking down geographical and socioeconomic barriers to improve health outcomes worldwide. Through her work, Tiffany aims to inspire and develop future innovators and changemakers to keep pushing the limits of what's possible in public health technology.
